Job Title: Assistant Camp Director
Classification: Exempt
Reports to: General Manager
Position Purpose:
Act as second in command to the General Manager to support camp functions inclusive of day-to-day operations and big picture thinking. Guided development and learning towards the progression of General Manager succession or that of camp industry evolution.
Direct Reports:
Seasonal Counseling, and Kitchen Staff
Essential Job Functions:
- Be the go-to and follow through of Camp Tuolumne Trails team.
- Manage Department Budgets in concert with General Manager
- Responsible for all aspects of Kitchen management
- In concert with General Manager develop Summer Program
- Develop additional outdoor education programs to be held in the school season
- Manage Seasonal Counseling, and Kitchen Staff
- Support the General Manager in hiring Summer Staff
Qualifications:
Mandatory:
- At least 3 years of experience in camp industry.
- Possess an affinity toward the special needs community.
- Outstanding organizational, people and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability with budget development and management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Google suite
- Able to quickly learn online database systems.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong desire to learn, grow, and lead.
Desirable:
- Experience in outdoor education programs, or programs for those who have a special need or disability.
- Exposure to the operation of 501(c)3 corporations
- Camp related certifications (Food Handlers, Water distribution, First-aid, etc.)
- Bilingual
Compensation:
$45,000 per year Inclusive of housing
