Camp Activities

Located in the beautiful California Sierra, just 30 minutes from Yosemite National Park, Camp Tuolumne Trails offers a spectacular array of activities.

All activities are designed for serious kid-style fun while helping campers develop independence, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. Campers also enhance their social skills, self-confidence and self-esteem through new skills and accomplishments.

Tuolumne Trails is A Camp for Me -- where children with serious medical conditions can rediscover their childhood and enjoy life’s simple pleasures in a beautiful outdoor setting.

Each sponsoring organization will develop the program that best suits their participants. Of course, camper safety and fun are always the top priorities – in the pool, on the playing field, or in the arts and crafts center.

Here are some of the possible camp activities, depending on each group’s needs and interests:

  • Large swimming pool, with beach access for wheelchairs makes the pool a highlight for kids of all abilities

  • Pool volleyball and basketball nets

  • Grass meadow playing field for all types of games and just hanging out

  • High or low challenge courses

  • Hiking and nature walks

  • Visits to Indian historic sites

  • Fishing and frog chasing in the camp pond

  • Wheeling trails

  • A large campfire area for meetings, talent shows, plays, sing-alongs, s’mores, and ghost stories!

  • Arts and crafts center with lots of room for group activities or individual projects

  • Gardening

  • Archery with targets at different heights and distances for all abilities

  • Old-fashioned hayrides and picnics

  • Late night star-gazing and astronomy lessons
